Fred Eidt and Muna ar-Rushdi are “new retirees” having decided that the South Shore of Nova Scotia would be an ideal place to settle and take time to smell the roses. Endless days of leisure however, we realized would soon lose appeal, so we (aka Muna), started looking for something to keep us (aka Fred), busy in retirement. Thanks to the Internet we stumbled onto a one hundred acre (more or less) property in Lunenburg County with a well established albeit tired Christmas tree operation, including a woodlot, and the overgrown ruins of a farmstead. This became the reality we named Gryphon Hill Farms in the autumn of 2012.
A well-known cranberry producer. Terra Beata means “blessed land.”
A small farm near Bridgewater with its own market. What isn’t grown here is sourced from other local producers.
We grow haskap berries, raspberries, strawberries, goji berries, vegetables, herbs, annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs.
Offers delivery of meat and other locally produced products from Chester Basin to Yarmouth to Digby. Also available at farmer’s markets.
Vermeulen Farms Limited is a thriving 450 acre fresh fruit and vegetable farm in Canning, Nova Scotia.
A wide range of products derived from the haskapa berry, grown in Nova Scotia by various suppliers.
