About Us:

Founded in 1998 by David and Evelyn Ernst, Terra Beata grew first from a patch of undeveloped peat bog sold at a tax auction to a 12 acre cranberry farm on Heckmans Island, near Lunenburg Nova Scotia. From there, we learned to clean, freeze, process and market cranberries. We now still operate the original farm, plus we receive cranberries from about 25 other farms in Atlantic Canada, for a total of over 5 million pounds per year. We run a cleaning and packing operation in Richibucto, NB as well as our main facility on Heckmans Island where we make juice, preserves, dried fruit and pack frozen berries full time year round. In 2013, Terra Beata was proud to receive BRC certification, following one of the most stringent food safety programs in the world.
